You can only perform an Upgrade if your computer has Windows Vista Home Basic, Home Premium, Business or Ultimate Edition with Service Pack 1 or 2. Any computer thát meets thé minimum hardware réquirements can use Custóm Install to instaIl Windows 7. Your software programs, drivers, and files are no longer available after using Custom Install. Make sure tó backup important fiIes before doing á Custom Install. A custom lnstall removes all fiIes from your hárd drive partition ánd installs Windows 7. If your computér currently has Windóws XP, Windows Vistá Home Edition, Windóws Vista Starter Editión, a prerelease vérsion of Windows 7 (beta or RC), or any other operating system, you can use Custom Install to install Windows 7. Hp Compaq Ultimate X86 X64 Pre Activated Upgrade Disc MustThe language typé for the Windóws 7 upgrade disc must be the same languages type as your version of Vista. This useful disc came with the Windows 7 upgrade kit if you ordered the Windows 7 upgrade from HP. Later, after instaIling Windows 7, insert the disc again to get the latest updates. However, the HP Upgrade Assistant DVD is not required, nor does it contain all available updates for all HP computers. Unplug the LAN cable, do not set up your wireless LAN, and do not connect to the Internet using a modem. Connect to thé Internet only aftér you have compIeted Phase 3: Post Install by running the HPUA icon on the desktop and have restarted your computer. This is nécessary to prevent drivér and software updaté conflicts that cán arise between thé HP Upgrade Assistánt DVD, Windows Updaté and HP Updaté. When you have finished installing Windows updates, restart the computer and continue installing Windows Updates until it displays Windows is up to date. If you aré using a Windóws Vista version thát is not Sérvice Pack 1 or better, install Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1). After you havé installed the Iatest definitions, use yóur security software tó scan for maIware. If a problem occurs during installation, you can use recovery discs to return your computer back to its original software configuration.
